On Friday, March 8, Speedeon Data celebrated International Women’s Day.
International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. As NBC News says, International Women’s Day “isn’t simply a celebration — it’s a call to action for everyone to continue to push for complete gender equality.”
“Having been an electrical engineering student and an information technology professional for most of my career, I have worked and been educated in male dominated environments and STEM industries,” said Maureen Bagley, Speedeon Chief Technology Officer. “I love International Women’s Day because it not only highlights the need for awareness of issues women continue to face in the workplace, but also helps empower women to go into science and technology careers. International Women’s Day gives women a stronger voice, and inspires men to support their women colleagues. That’s why this day is important to me, and I am proud to work for a company that works every day to celebrate women in the workplace.”
Speedeon Data is proud to say that 50% of our leadership team and 40% of our total staff are women, and we remain committed to creating a diverse and progressive workplace through our hiring practices. We celebrate International Women's Day because it provides an important and exciting opportunity to honor women's achievements, raise awareness of issues surrounding gender equality, and reinforce our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
